Unmanned platforms and civil applications are the future trend, but lack of EASA and FAA regulations prohibits the regular use of this technologies. Cost of unmanned systems also are most of the time prohibitive to most of the civil users. A2TECH, member of the EuroCONTROL WG-73 - Unmanned Aircraft Systems, recognized this industry issue and decided to work closely to ultralight aircraft builders in order to integrate the entire A2TECH product line to manned aircraft systems. This give users the advantage and return of investment (ROI) on having advanced ultralight aircrafts ready to get unmanned as soon UAS regulations are in place and to test and evaluate UAS technologies and applications without flight restrictions yet.

RV-VTOL25 "Explorer" - Rotary-Wing UAV for Civil Applications

The multipurpose highly versatile, single engine RV-VTOL25 “Explorer”, powered by a 18 shp (13,4 kW) twin-spark boxer gasoline engine, are designed for a wide variety of civil application. Its flexibility and low acquisition cost have made it a very sought-after UAV helicopter capable of performing a wide range of misisons, including SAR, fire fighting support, law enforcement, and wild animal observation, among others.

The platform features a rotor diameter of 2.5 m and TOW of 45-55 kg, nose-mounted image sensors, fuselage integrated 19” rack mission bay, underslung load and stub wings with pylons.
